Neutral Holiday Table & Mixed Foliage Garland

When building a tablescape for any season, you can choose to keep things simple with a delicate centerpiece, or style the table with a look complete with place settings. Although we won’t be hosting and entertaining guests this holiday season, I thought it would be fun to style up the dining room and set the table for our family.

I decided to keep our table bare of a runner or tablecloth to show the reclaimed wood table in all her beauty. I wanted to play off of the mantle decor and chose to mix the two garlands I used there in addition to a magnolia leaf garland. Below you can see the pine and eucalyptus on our mantle, as well as them mixed with the magnolia on our table. There are so many varieties of garland available but I always suggest to keep it the same throughout your home for a cohesive look.

Along the garland, I styled the center of the table two ways. First, I added candlesticks down the center. This is a simple and classic look that is always a good go-to when styling a table. As a second option, I found these gorgeous glass Christmas trees at Target and placed them among the garland. The way the light shines through them at certain times of the day makes them look like they are made of ice! (A real winner with our ‘Frozen’ obsessed children!)

When it comes to the place settings, I love a layered look. I started by using a dark base with the charger to add some depth and layered a dinner and salad plate on top. I chose a simple plaid napkin in a brass ring. The brass ties in with the candlesticks and the rim of the charger plate. The gold silverware finishes the look!
