HOLIDAY DECOR

The holidays are over and whether you take down your Christmas tree on December 26th (like me) or on the first day of the new year, you are going to need to put it all away. No better way to start that new year off than to organize all of your Christmas decor as you store it to make your next holiday season that much easier to navigate. Here are a few ideas of how to organize all of your decor as you put it into storage.

  • Begin with any items you didn’t use this season. Why didn’t you use that wreath? Why is that tree still in storage? Does this stocking signify something special? If you aren’t sure of your answer, I think it’s safe to say you can add it to a donate pile.

  • Gather all of your holiday pieces that you did use and take them to your storage area. I suggest trying to keep like items together, all mantel decor for example, in one storage container. Using clear bins will help you see whats inside of them while in storage and easier next year when you are pulling it all back out. I linked my favorite bins and storage racks below.

  • Ornament boxes are a great way to keep glass and breakable bulbs secure. I found some for standard size bulbs as well as one for your larger 4 inch ornaments.

  • Be sure to pack away your tree in a durable bag that will help keep it protected during the year. Do you have any pencil trees? You can fit two into one bag!

  • Lastly, I found these awesome gift wrap cases that keep all of your wrapping paper, bows, bags, etc all in one place. It makes a great wrapping station to pull out when needed!
