Favorite Blue & Neutral Rug Options

Hardwood floors are all the rage in design these days. They help to make a space, especially an open concept space, feel more cohesive. When we built our home, my husband wanted carpet in the living room but for me that was not even an option! (Although he did win that battle with carpet in the bedrooms - marriage IS about compromise, lol.) I promised him I would always keep a soft and comfortable rug in the living room space. I have had a handful of rugs since we moved in 3 years ago and recently changed it up again. Not only does a rug offer comfort underfoot but also helps to pull a design together. After we made some changes in our living room, I felt we needed a solid natural or nice blue tone rug to ground the space. I almost pulled the trigger on a jute/wool mix rug but ended up going blue at the last minute and it is perfect. I am sharing all of the natural/neutral and blue toned rugs I found during my search. Keep scrolling down for a little review of our living room and dining room rugs!

Neutral / Natural Rug Options

What we chose….

For the living room we went with the Pottery Barn Lillia Eco-Friendly Easy Care rug in blue. This rug is the perfect shade of muted blue. In some light it may look like a cool blue-toned gray. It’s very soft under foot and the kids enjoy playing on it. I was worried about wear and tear with the raised design but we haven’t had any issues! We use the softest vacuum speed to go easy on the raised portions. The rug is beyond our expectations and I am so glad we went with this blue option.

In our dining room, we have the Serena and Lily Jute Boarder rug. With it being jute, it is a bit more rough under foot but we don’t mind with it being in the dining room. It’s easy to clean and adds the perfect amount of warmth to the space.
