DIY Cabinet Charging Station
One thing I wish we had considered when building our home is a charging station inside of a drawer or cabinet in the kitchen. There are constantly chargers and tablets laying around the house. Since I don’t have a dedicated place for all of the electronics I decided to make a home for them that would be a little more out of sight. I had this cabinet at the top of our stair landing with no real purpose. It was the perfect piece to turn into a charging station.
Drill Holes
The first step would be to give an access point for the electronic plug to get through. My cabinet did not have an opening in the back so I made some myself. I am no professional so, although they are functional, my holes don’t look the best! I may need a lesson in using this type of drill bit! (LOL)
Hang Power Strips
I ordered a set of 2 surge protectors and some heavy duty velcro with adhesive. I attached the velcro strips to the back of the power cord to hang it up off of the shelves.
Plug in Chargers
Now all you have to do is organize your electronics and plug in the chargers. Super easy! Now all the chargers and tablets are in one place, out of sight, and where the kids can reach when they are allowed.
Let me know if you decide to make a dedicated electronic charging station for your family! I want to see what you come up with!
