Car Kits for Organizing Your Console
Trying to keep your car clean and organized when you have kids can seem hopeless, am I right? You never know what items you will need on the go. If you’re like me, you like to be prepared and keep a little of everything with you. As much as I love to organize and keep a tidy home, my car is one place I have been slacking. I can usually find 6 pairs of shoes, a few water bottles, hair ties, toys and who knows what else tossed about the back seat. With a 14 hour road trip to Florida on the horizon I was inspired to rally up the miscellaneous items floating around the car and console and organize them in a simple way. This hack isn’t just helpful for a roadtrip but for the everyday, too!
I am using 4x6 photo boxes I had left over from a previous project to categorize all the things. These just so happen to fit perfectly in our center console, leaving room for a flashlight!
You can easily customize the categories and items in your own cases to best fit your families needs. I am excited to share what I am keeping in each kit with you below!

Sun & Bugs
We like to use these DEET free mosquito repellent stickers from Buzz Patch. These are so easy to have in the car and just stick on your clothes if you are at the park or staying out late at a friends house. I also have a face and body sunscreen stick in case we forget to apply before we leave the house.
Medicine
In the medicine kit, I am keeping things we use most often. My allergy meds (Claritin), allergy eye drops, Tums for tummy trouble, pain meds and a children’s Tylenol as well.
Office
For the office kit, I thought it would be useful to store some pens, pencils, a sharpie, small pair of scissors, post-it notes and a measuring tape. You never know when you might need to measure something!
Hygiene
Personal hygiene items are pretty basic with some hand lotion, chapstick, a mini deodorant, floss, toothpicks, a nail file, nail clippers and some safety pins. I added a hand sanitizer in this kit to serve as a back up to the one I have easily accessible.
First aid
This is by no means a fancy first aid kit. A few simple things for minor cuts while on the go. Band-aids, gloves, hand sanitizer and a few pieces of gauze.
Feminine
This kit seems pretty self-explanatory.
Hair
A house full of girls (sorry David) definitely requires a few hair accessories and a brush for the car side salon.
